Whomever has access to DeltaNet can log in and check the “airport standby list” for the LAX-SYD flight AFTER it departs. Then you'll see how many were on the standby list, and how many were given seats. It's helpful if you look at the past few days – you'll get a very good idea of how many didn't make it on, if any. good luck!
