Buddy Pass roundtrip ATL to LAX

Hi, I'm really new to this and and have never flown anywhere. I just have a few questions. Can anyone tell me what the price would be for a roundtrip from ATL to LAX using a friend's buddy pass? Also, I was told to wear “church attending attire”, so I was wondering how strict the dress code is for a Delta buddy pass. I plan to dress well of course, I was just asking for particulars I guess. Lastly, exactly how early should I get to the airport for boarding? I was told to be there at least two hours ahead of departure time. Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi PrettyThe price from ATL to LAX won't be too much. If you're going round trip, it will probably be about $250, and 1/2 that for 1 way. I'm just guessing, but that seems about right and I'm sure I'm within $50.I'm not sure what "church attending attire" means, but the dress code is pretty relaxed. They don't want you to wear cut off shorts, tube tops, tank tops, etc. But jeans are fine, your running shoes are ok, t-shirts are even ok, but I usually don't go that casual. Once, in the past, there were no jeans allowed in first class, nor running shoes, but these days, it seems pretty laid back. I haven't heard a thing about dress codes for years.As for arrival time at the airport, typically you won't know if there is a seat for you until about 10 to 15 min. before departure. If you get to the gate 1 hour before the flight, you will have more than enough time. The real issue is how long the security line at the airport is -- I would add 30 more min for that. If you are very risk-averse, make it 2h before the flight.Any more questions, feel free to ask!
